Visas & Tickets
Here are some general things you should know about traveling to Congo and some agencies that can lend assistance in planning your trip:
- Airline tickets cost around $1,500 -$3,000
- You will need a letter of invitation from the organization you are visiting in order to obtain a visa.
- It is generally recommended that you begin the process of obtaining your visa to D.R. Congo at least 30 days prior to travel time. You can get more specific details from the « visa expediters » listed below.
- Yellow fever vaccination is required for Congo. You will need to show record of vaccination upon arrival.
- At departure, you will need to pay a $50.00 departure tax per person at Ndjili airport, refered to as a « Go Pass », which you can purchase at early check-in or at the entrance to the terminal. You will be required to show your « Go Pass » right before you board.
- Air France and SN Brussels offer early check-in the day of departure. This is recommended as it eliminates a lot of hassle and jostling at the airport.
