Visas & Tickets
Here are some general things you should know about traveling to Congo and some agencies that can lend assistance in planning your trip:
- Airline tickets cost around $1,500 -$3,000
- You will need a letter of invitation from the organization you are visiting in order to obtain a visa.
- It is generally recommended that you begin the process of obtaining your visa to D.R. Congo at least 30 days prior to travel time. You can get more specific details from the “visa expediters” listed below.
- Yellow fever vaccination is required for Congo. You will need to show record of vaccination upon arrival.
- At departure, you will need to pay a $50.00 departure tax per person at Ndjili airport, refered to as a “Go Pass”, which you can purchase at early check-in or at the entrance to the terminal. You will be required to show your “Go Pass” right before you board.
- Air France and SN Brussels offer early check-in the day of departure. This is recommended as it eliminates a lot of hassle and jostling at the airport.
